Pre-Sacca Workshops – Day One

Day One of the 2021 SACCA Congress and participants are taken through eye-opening and thought-provoking pre-workshops during the 21st SACCA Congress in Kwale, Kenya. The Pre-Workshops spoke to issues around Co-operative Governance Framework, Effective Strategic Planning for SACCOs, Enriching Members Loyalty in Co-operatives, Recruiting and Managing Talent in SACCOs, Enhancing Performance Management for Service Delivery in SACCOs, and Wealth Creation through Co-operative Model.

George Ombado Session

ACCOSCA Executive Director, George Ombado (I-CUDE) making an impactful presentation on Trends influencing Sacco Development and Growth in Africa during the 21st SACCA Congress in Kwale, Kenya.

Through his detailed presentation, participants were able to understand how Africa’s Economic Growth falls short of improving living standards for most people and the role SACCOs can play in Member Empowerment.

Further, the E.D rubberstamped ACCOSCA’s mission to empower African National Associations of Financial Co-operatives and their members through Advocacy and Technical programs around enhancing Financial Stability & Sustainability among SACCOs, Membership Growth, cultivating Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, Marketing & Branding, Products & Services, Governance & HR and the much-anticipated ACCOSCA Academy.

Chief Guest Speakers

George Ototo

George Ototo, Group Managing Director of the Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Co-operatives Ltd (KUSCCO) and Board Member of the African Confederation Of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) and World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) making his keynote address on Enhancing Integration and Sustainability among SACCOs during the 21st SACCA Congress in Kwale, Kenya.

In his presentation, Mr. Ototo affirmed the critical role played by co-operatives in the realization of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development Goals. He urged SACCOs to invest in continuous training, education, and member- sensitization to achieve sustainable growth.

The MD further disclosed that good policies and legislation will allow for partnerships that bridge the gap between Governments and SACCOs, calling for strong policies which support SACCOs in being competitive in the marketplace and reach new and more distant markets
